Yee-hawing With Brian
Featuring Brian Chu
Engineer, Moustache Farmer
November 28, 2012
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada
Brian does not take life too seriously. His day job as “some kind of engineer which makes him feel important” demands a high level of professional responsibility, but you wouldn’t know it if you saw him after-hours. His evenings usually begin with a tip of scotch; he’s working on growing his small collection of fine single malts. During winter month weekends, you’ll typically find him cutting tracks in fresh powder at his favourite ski resorts: Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, or Fernie (although he’ll gladly take a quick trip out to Lake Louise, Sunshine, or Marmot Basin any day). You might also find him volunteering at the Birkebeiner – Canada’s Premier Nordic Ski Event. During the summer months, when he’s not at the gym (cough!) he’s usually soakin’ up rays and great company at one of the many great patios Edmonton has to offer. At night, Brian enjoys hammering on the piano. Although he has yet to “release” any original, Brian dabbles in jazz, soul and funk composition. His favourite jazz pianist is the late Oscar Peterson. Brian also loves to organize events to raise money for charitable causes: he’s done laser shows, chest waxing, hair dying, beard growing/shaving, bike riding and moustache growing just to show everyone that he’s always willing to go that extra mile to put a smile on peoples’ faces while fundraising for charity.
Note: Brian’s ‘stache, seen here in all its glory, had enough presence to earn him second-runner up in Edmonton’s Movember contest.
