Linda is a lawyer and politician servicing as a Member of Parliament for Edmonton-Strathcona. She has the distinction of being the only MP from Alberta who is not a member of the Conservative Party. An internationally recognized leader in the development and enforcement of environmental law, she is the recipient of many awards and tributes, including a 1989 YWCA Award of Merit, lifetime membership in the Preservation of Agricultural Land Association, the 1998 Award of Merit from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the 2004 Emerald Environment Award and tributes from the governments of Canada, Indonesia and the Netherlands.
