Justin was born on Christmas Day in 1971.
He is the eighth prime minister with a name that begins with the letter “J.” Of Canada’s 22 prime ministers, there have been five Johns, a Joe and a Jean.
He won the 2015 federal election one day after what would have been his father Pierre Elliott Trudeau’s 96th birthday.
It is thought that he is the first prime minister with a tattoo. His left shoulder is covered with a tattoo of the planet Earth (inked when he was 23) surrounded by a Haida raven (added when he was 40).
He proposed to his wife Sophie Grégoire on October 18, 2004 – on what would have been his father’s 85th birthday.
According to Ancestry.ca, he and federal NDP Leader Thomas Mulcair are ninth cousins. They share a connection that goes back 400 years to their eighth great-grandparents Mathieu Amiot and Marie Miville. More recently, they share a connection through Miguelito’s Little Green Car.
