Here’s the abbreviated timeline of Slavo’s life:<\/p>\n

Pre-1982:<\/strong> Is born, grows up, all that good stuff.<\/p>\n

1982-1984:<\/strong> studies marketing at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology<\/a>. <\/p>\n

1985:<\/strong> Opens a commercial Christmas decoration manufacturing studio called Christmas Images<\/em>, which he operates until he “started to get restless and a little bored with the limitations to my creativity.” <\/p>\n

1991-1994:<\/strong> Studies Art and Design at the University of Alberta<\/a> while still maintaining the decoration business. <\/p>\n

Early 1990s:<\/strong> He starts experimenting with artistic iron work. The “right people” see it and he is contacted by several galleries to show his work. <\/p>\n

Current day:<\/strong> “My studio practice is a perfect balance of sculptural work and wrought iron work.”<\/p>\n

In 1986 he pitched AGT (Alberta Government Telephones, which later became Telus<\/a>) with the idea to light up the front of their building in a pattern of Christmas trees. In 2017, he was a top 10 finalist in The Edmonton Project<\/a>. He likes to cook and entertain. At home he is known as the fish whisperer<\/em>. 2006 was his busiest year.
