Cregg grew up as a “poor dirt farmer” north of Grande Prairie, Alberta. It was there that he learned the value of hard work. He learned how to drive a vehicle by 6, motorcycle by 7, tractor by 8 and how to fly a plane by 9.<\/p>\n

Fast forward a few years and you’ll find that he graduated with (pardon me) “flying” honors from the University of Saskatchewan with a BSc. in Anatomy & Cell Biology and later earned a BSc. with honors in physiotherapy. He’s since augmented his skill set with numerous post graduate courses on sports, motor vehicle, neurological and workplace injuries.<\/p>\n

He’s worked with a variety of athletes from the weekend warrior to Olympic champions and professional athletes. He has a particular interest in treating hockey players, figure skaters, runners, as well as chronic, complex patients, especially those with back and neck injuries. <\/p>\n

His high-school nickname was Chuckie<\/strong>. Cregg, along with four other university buddies, once choreographed and performed 95% of The Full Monty<\/a><\/em>. Says Cregg: \u201cI have the greatest job in the world. I get paid to needle people all day. She was found orphaned at a very young age, with no other elephants around. Unfortunately at the time there was no facility in Sri Lanka that had the resources to be able to care for her. It was through the Colombo Zoo that the Edmonton Valley Zoo<\/a> became aware that Lucy needed a home.\r\n\r\nLucy arrived at the Edmonton Valley Zoo on May 19, 1977. When Lucy arrived at the Edmonton Valley Zoo her age was not known. By looking at how developed she was it was estimated that she was about two years old. Since we have no record of her birth date, we celebrate her birthday on Canada Day. On July 1st, 2013 Lucy celebrated her 38th birthday!\r\n\u00a0\r\n[box]At any given time, Lucy's weight fluctuates between 8400-8500 lbs.<\/strong>[\/box]\r\n\r\n[box]Some of Lucy's favorite activities are painting, hide and seek and playing soccer.<\/strong>[\/box]\r\n\r\n[box]Lucy's artwork is available for sale at http:\/\/buildingourzoo.com\/support-the-zoo\/elephant-art\/<\/a>.<\/strong>[\/box]\r\n\r\n[box]To prevent foot infection, Lucy\u2019s zookeepers inspect her feet regularly for foreign objects and they are conditioned twice a day with apple cider vinegar (for disinfecting) and epsom salts (for nourishment).<\/strong>[\/box]\r\n\r\n[box]Lucy was very, VERY interested in Miguelito's Little Green Car.
