Doug has this to say:<\/p>\n

Sports have pretty much dominated my life. My first memory is as a three year old with my parents asking me if I\u2019d like to go with them to watch track and field at the Commonwealth Games. I turned them down to stay home to watch the events on TV with my grandma. It\u2019s the only time I\u2019ve ever said no to attending a sporting event and I’ve been seeking those live experiences ever since. Being in the seats or putting on the uniform myself sports is about anticipating the unpredictable. Though my athletic abilities didn\u2019t get me very far I\u2019ve been extremely fortunate to stay in sports on the business and broadcast sides. It\u2019s allowed me to meet some amazing people and travel around the world.

\nI chose the U of A for the photo because it\u2019s played such a key role in my life. The vast majority of my immediate and extended families have degrees from there so many of my fondest memories have a connection back to U of A. I also get to put on my broadcasting hat there to call basketball, football and hockey games. I\u2019m not sure Ron MacLean has to worry about his job security but I have lots of fun doing it.

\nI\u2019m also fortunate to work in a great city with a great marketing company in Incite<\/a>. The people I work with and learn from on a daily basis certainly make me feel pretty lucky. We also want to play our part in making Edmonton a great place to work, live and play and, trust me, play is a big part of what makes Incite so successful!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Doug’s family has been in Edmonton for over 100 years.<\/strong><\/div><\/div>\n

He has worked with the International University Sports Federation (FISU)<\/a> in Russia, Belgium, Turkey, Italy and China.<\/strong><\/div><\/div>\n
\n\t\t\t\t\t
He’s a committee member with Edmonton\u2019s NextGen committee<\/a> where “we keep working to build a great city.”<\/strong><\/div><\/div>\n
