Dr. Chris Jass (right)<br \/>\nAssistant Curator &amp; Curator, Quaternary (Ice Age) Palaeontology<br \/>\nNovember 30, 2011<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalalbertamuseum.ca\">Royal Alberta Museum<\/a><br \/>\nEdmonton, Alberta, Canada<\/p>\n<p>Chris is the Curator of Quaternary Palaeontology at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalalbertamuseum.ca\">Royal Alberta Museum<\/a> (RAM). \u00a0Chris received his Ph.D. from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.utexas.edu\/\">University of Texas at Austin<\/a> in December 2007. \u00a0Shortly thereafter, he accepted his current position with the RAM, moved his family to Alberta, and bought lots of cold weather gear.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Milot is the Assistant Curator of Quaternary Palaeontology at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalalbertamuseum.ca\">RAM<\/a>. \u00a0Peter has worked in the Quaternary Palaeontology Program since 1987.\u00a0\u00a0Chris and Peter conduct field and laboratory research in order to understand the spatial and temporal distributions of animals that lived during the Ice Age.<\/p>\n<p>Part of their current research is measuring isolated mammoth teeth in the collections at the RAM\u00a0to determine if dental characteristics support the hypothesis that at least two species of mammoths occurred in Alberta during the Ice Age. <strong>\u00a0In this photo, Miguelito&#8217;s little green car is on top of a mammoth tooth specimen estimated to be at least 10,000 years old.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For more information on Chris, Peter, and the Quaternary Palaeontology Program at the Royal Alberta Museum see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.royalalbertamuseum.ca\/natural\/palaeo\/intro.htm\">http:\/\/www.royalalbertamuseum.ca\/natural\/palaeo\/intro.htm<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Researching with Peter and Chris Featuring Peter Milot (left) &amp;
