Romancing Vinyl With Mark and Amanda
Featuring Mark Berg and Amanda Khamvongsa
April 8, 2014
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Amanda works at Blackbyrd Myoozik in Edmonton and is an avid vinyl buyer, picture-taking admirer, wannabe blogger, amateur radio host and most of all an “awkward little girl” (editor’s note: those are Mark’s words!). Mark spends most his time tucked away in his home studio working on music for his passion project, Tropic Harbour, as well as spending Monday mornings hosting the radio show Local-Motive with Amanda on the mighty CJSR 88.5 FM in Edmonton.

Amanda and Mark first met through a mutual passion in music. Miguelito’s Little Green Car is sitting on the album that brought them together, Tycho’s Dive. They both share a love for this album and have played it every Monday morning for the past 3 years on their radio show.
Nils Frahm’s Spaces was the background music to this lovely afternoon photo shoot. Spaces is a compilation of live recordings from the Berlin-based composer, and it has been spinning on their record player over and over again for the past week.
Amanda has a strange fear of ghosts and swears that there once was one was in her jar of Nutella.
Mark never spends a day without wearing his slippers at some point.
The stool that Amanda is standing on was bought specifically so she can reach the record player.
